Our first robot design for the 2024-2025 FTC season featured a robust telescoping arm, allowing for precise extension and retraction. At the end of the arm, we integrated a "Smart Grab" grabber, which utilized a HuskyLens AI vision camera to identify samples in real-time. This system enhanced our robot’s efficiency, enabling it to autonomously detect, align with, and securely grasp designated game elements. However, despite its potential, the design ultimately proved unreliable in practice, leading us to explore alternative approaches for improved consistency and performance.
